Meet the CPA Security team
Crime Prevention Agency cc was registered in 1993 and has been in operation ever since. The business was founded by Brent Coetsee (BA LL.B.) (NATAL), an advocate of the High Court, who was previously a State Prosecutor at Durban Regional Courts, before resigning to manage Crime Prevention Agency.
Brent Coetsee is the Founder and CEO of Crime Prevention Agency. “I am pleased with the calibre of managers that have joined CPA over the years, each brings their own skill set, and together they form a highly competent and resourcefulteam.”
Brent holds BA & LLB degrees, and is admitted as an advocate of the High Court of SA.
Chief Executive Officer
Our General Manager, David Coombe, joined CPA in 2008. David holds a Diploma in Health and Safety (Samtrac), which he passed Cum Laude, and is presently studying towards his LLB degree. He started his work career with the South African Police Services, where he served for fifteen years as an Investigating Officer. During this time, he was posted inter alia at the Kwazulu Natal Provincial Anti-Corruption Unit, and specialised in Project investigations and Serious and Violent crimes. He has acquired vast managerial experience in the insurance and private security industry in recent years. Whilst working for Enforce Security Services he specialised in retail security, and managed the security for numerous shopping centres in the Durban area. The seventeen Centres he managed included Umlazi Mega City, Pinecrest, Value Centre (Sanlam Centre), Home Centre, the Crescent, Windermere Centre and Hillcrest Corner. He has the necessary skills to enable our company to continue to specialize in retail security. His clients at the 2007 South African Council of Shopping Centres (SACSC) Star Awards nominated the security on his sites, for the annual KZN regional award.
Our Operations Manager is Vincent Zondi. Vincent joined CPA in 2009, and his duties include making sure all our guards are providing the best service to our clients. To do this they need to be properly trained as well as motivated. He also calls on our clients to make sure they are 100% satisfied with the service they are receiving. Vincent holds diplomas in Health and Safety, Bookkeeping and Business Management and is studying towards a degree in Safety and Disaster Management.
Sindi Mkhize heads up our Finance Department. Sindi joined CPA in 2009 and assists our clients with any queries, as well as taking care of all our administrative needs. Her admin team of Rickie and Promise, competently assist her. Sindi is a qualified bookkeeper and is studying towards a BComm degree at UNISA, and will graduate in 2019.
Our Human Resource Manager, Sicelo Lucky Biyela, has been with the company for over twenty years. Originally, he served as a Security Supervisor in one of the busy food chain stores (Shoprite). Later he was given an opportunity to be the Company’s Site Inspector. He excelled in both positions, and in 2002 was rewarded by being promoted to Operations Manager and recently to head up our Human Resources department.

Levy Nair is our Client Service Manager. He is currently completing a Diploma in Health and Safety, and is also a pastor in his local community. He formerly worked for Enforce Security Services specialising in Shopping Centre security management. Over the years, he has received awards from the South African Council of Shopping Centres. He managed Musgrave Centre, Umlazi Mega City, Pinecrest Centre, Southway Mall, Queensburgh Mall, Queensmead Centre, Malvern Shopping Centre, Village Market, Bluff Towers, Richdens Centre and Hillcrest Shoprite Investment, Colony Centre, Granada Centre, Buxtons Centre, Virginia Checkers Centre and the Crescent Shopping Centre. He was also twelve years at G4S Security where he was the training manager, for the security guards at the US embassy. He is a qualified National Key Point and Firearm instructor, and is highly competent in security management.
